Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul was conferred a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’

15 – 17 September 2025

Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul was conferred a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ for her presentation and recognition of the insightful perspectives and active engagement during the UNESCO Regional Capacity Building Programme entitled “Building Stronger Foundations for Sport Integrity in the Pacific,” which was held on 15 – 17 September 2025 for the Pacific, in Brisbane, Australia, through online mode (17th September 2025).

The event was hosted by Sport Integrity Australia, under the framework of the International Convention against Doping in Sport.

NLU Delhi Foundation incubates Legal-tech startup ‘Nyaya Nexus'

24th March, 2025

Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul, Registrar of National Law University Delhi & Director NLU Delhi Foundation, signed an MoU with Mr Vishwam Jindal, Co-founder of Webnyay on 24th March, 2025. The NLU Delhi Foundation has incubated “Nyaya Nexus” legal-tech solution to streamline e-filing, Case Management and Case Information Systems across Tribunals in India.

This partnership with Webnyay, is to enhance the digital transformation of courts and tribunals across India. “Nyaya Nexus” solution to streamline e-filing, Case Management and Case Information Systems across Tribunals in India, has been incubated at NLU Delhi.

Training Programme for the Recovery Officers of DRTs

27th – 30th January, 2025

Prof. Ruhi Paul was the Programme Director for the four days Residential Training Programme for the Recovery Officers of Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRTs) across India, scheduled from 27th to 30th January 2025. The intensive training programme was organised by NLU Delhi in collaboration with Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

The program was designed to enhance the professional expertise of the Recovery Officers, equipping them with critical insights and skills to efficiently manage debt recovery processes and legal frameworks.

Women’s Collective Forum

10th January, 2025

On January 10th, 2025, NLU Delhi was proud to be part of the impactful event “Her Skill, Her Future”, hosted by the Women’s Collective Forum in collaboration with the Loomba Foundation and CII Foundation. This initiative aims to empower 1 lakh widows across India with skills and resources for sustainable livelihoods.

The event was graced by Lord Raj Loomba,CBE ( Founder & Chairman Trustee, the Loomba Foundation), Mrs. Cherie Blair, CBE, KC (President, The Loomba Foundation) and Smt. Smriti Irani, (Vice President, Loomba foundation) who inspired the attendees with their inspiring words. A key highlight was the announcement of the upcoming booklet on inheritance rights for widows in India, a collaborative effort between NLU Delhi and the Women’s Collective Forum.

The event was attended by the Prof. Ruhi Paul Registrar of NLU Delhi, Dr. Garima Tiwari, Associate Professor and a dedicated student team comprising Aman Saini, Vibhuti Sharma, Tejal Deshwal, and Ashwin Shankar, who contributed significantly to this initiative.

National Stakeholder Consultation Series on Strengthening Legal Protections for Women under the New Criminal Jurisprudence

December, 2024

Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul was the Project Director for the “National Stakeholder Consultation Series on Strengthening Legal Protections for Women under the New Criminal Jurisprudence” , organized by National Law University Delhi in partnership with the Women’s Collective Forum and supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

This series was held in Delhi, Gandhinagar, Cuttack and Guwahati, and was hosted in collaboration with leading institutions across the country in December 2024, including:

– Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar
– National Law University Odisha, Cuttack
– National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, Guwahati

The consultations convened a diverse array of stakeholders, including members of the judiciary, police, forensic experts, academics, advocates, policymakers, and NGOs. The discussions were centered on practical aspects of implementation and awareness-raising, with the ultimate goal of fostering a more effective and inclusive justice system.

Global Sustainable Technology and Information Community (G-STIC) Conference

Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul attended the Global Sustainable Technology and Information Community (G-STIC) Conference organised by the Indian Society of Internal Law and European Education Law and Policy at New Delhi on 23rd October, 2024 and also delivered a "Lecture on State of the Art on International and Comparative Education Law and Policy in India" during this conference.

National Law University Delhi and the National Anti-Doping Agency, India (NADA India), forged a partnership through an MoU

National Law University Delhi and the National Anti-Doping Agency, India (NADA India), forged a partnership through an MoU on 17th September 2024 to strengthen cooperation in anti-doping law and policy.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Ashish Bhargava, DG & CEO of NADA India, and Dr. Ruhi Paul, Professor of Law & Registrar, NLU Delhi, in the presence of the esteemed Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Ms. Raksha Nikhil Khadse and Vice Chancellor, NLU Delhi, Prof. Dr. G.S. Bajpai, along with NADA staff members and high-level dignitaries from various countries who were present during the 2nd Formal Meeting of the COP9 Bureau and the 3rd Formal Meeting of the Fund’s Approval Committee under the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport in New Delhi.

Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul has been nominated as a Member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Higher Education Taskforce sub-group on Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Skills.

National Law University, Delhi in collaboration with Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, London hosted the 9th HSF - NLU Delhi International Negotiation Competition

Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul judged the final rounds of this Moot which was attended by participants from over 30 Universities around the world, and the competition was a rousing success.

The team from the University of Cambridge emerged as the Winners of the Competition. The Runners -Up were the team from the University of Technology, Sydney.

NLU Delhi has once again secured the 2nd position in the Law Category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2024!

'Faculty Development Programme on Clinical Legal Education' organized by the National Law University Delhi

The Vice Chancellor, NLU Delhi, Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, inaugurated the programme and highlighted the importance of clinical legal education.

Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul provided the overview of the programme and scheduled sessions of the FDP and introduced the resource persons namely  Prof. (Dr.)  Ajay Pandey, O. P. Jindal Global University, Sonepat; Prof. (Dr.) Sarasu Esther Thomas, National Law School of India University, Bangalore; Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Raghavan, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai; Prof. Anup Surendranath, NLU Delhi and Prof. (Dr.)  M.R.K Prasad, V.M. Salgaocar College of Law.

The sessions included:

1. Clinical Legal Education: A different pedagogical approach.
2. Designing new clinical courses – Combining theory and practice.
3. Drawing from (empirical) research projects – Scope for designing courses to address specific legal challenges.

4. Incorporating clinical legal skills in non-clinical courses – Benefits and Challenges.
5. Administering and organising independent legal clinics in law schools.
6. Conducting field-based research projects in law schools.
7. Documentation and evaluation of outcome of clinical based activities.
8. Training students to engage in legal aid activities – Research and Ethics.

Faculty Development Program organized by Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies

Empowering faculty: Cultivating Research Excellence-meeting

Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul was invited to be a resource person by the Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (affiliated to GGSIP University), in their Faculty Development Program (FDP) themed as “Empowering faculty: Cultivating Research Excellence” on July 26, 2024 at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies Campus Rohini, Delhi.

She delivered an insightful lecture (online) on the topic “Mapping landscape of Mediation Practice in India with special emphasis on Singapore Mediation Convention and Mediation Act, 2023”.

Four-days Residential Training Program for the Registrars of DRTs & DRATs

Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul, Professor Law & Registrar was the Programme Director for the ‘Four-day residential training program for Registrars of Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRTs) and Debt Recovery Appellate Tribunals (DRATs)’ from July 22-25, 2024. The intensive training programme was organised by NLU Delhi in collaboration with the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India. The participants were Registrars of DRTs and DRATs all across the country. The training aimed at fostering professional development and expertise in various legal and administrative aspects.
